Cherish the ones before you...
11:25 AM

I received a sms from Don sometime this week to inform me that one of our friends' grandfather has passed away. Just this morning, I saw this friend on MSN and her nick was in Chinese, which after some loose translation, it simply means life is short, cherish the ones before you.

I'm actually not sure whether I have posted something like this but I guess even if that's the case, it doesn't hurts. People nowadays do not know how to cherish their loved ones and in this case, I'm talking about parents. People normally take for granted that they will be there forever. The sad truth is, they aren't. They will leave us one day and that day might come sooner than later for some of us. And when it comes, it strikes you like a sudden lightning and regret at that moment, becomes just another emotion with sadness, devastation etc.

I, too, am guilty of that. So is baby, I think. So next time when you are about to raise your voices to your parents, stop for a moment and think. When you are buying presents for your friends, colleagues, gfs/bfs, also stop for a moment and think. Are you doing enough for your parents? Are you caring more about your friends / colleagues / gfs/bfs/ wifes/husbands than your own parents who have showed you care and concern for the best part of your life?

Sometimes I wish I am an ang moh (foreigner). They are not shy when it comes to expressing their love for their parents. I shall strive to tell them at least once that I love them before they are gone. But right now, I can only write in this blog and they are most likely unable to see this.

I love you dad... I love you mum... I love you sis...
